20 junior teams from ten nations in Dubrovnik
A big event with much big memories for young athletes recently took place at the Croatian powerhouse Dubrovnik. 20 men’s junior teams of the age group 1999 from ten different nations were battling for the Tomo Udovičić Trophy. In the final game the local heroes of Jug Dubrovnik gained a narrow 2-1 victory against Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade in the big battle of two famous names, while Kotor-based VA Cattaro from Montenegro finished third by a 9-8 victory against CN Marseille from France.
The international event in the home pool of the three-time Champions League winner Jug Dubrovnik brought a big meeting of young players dedicated to the sports. Seven clubs had already won a European Cup competition on senior level so far, but international guests were also coming from the USA, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Slovenia, Netherlands and Germany.
